We bought one and after research I feel lied to and suckered. If you just bought one return it immediatly. They do not do anything they claim. The warranty only covers part of it. All the "benefits" you can get with a regular water softener with potassium bought from any store.

3. Written by clowned, on 18-10-2009 16:30 I can agree to the science. When, and I stress WHEN, my Rainsoft system works, the water is perfect. The water from our well is sickening to say the least. It is borderline undrinkable, but treated water is wonderful. The down side is the company as a whole. The sales tactics are aimed at taking advantage of the ignorant, but that's sales. The real problem with rainsoft is support or lack of. Most specifically, their warranty is essentially trash. When my system was installed, they didn't do something right and to get them to fix their own mistake, there was a fee. I then received a bill for the repair. After fighting with the corporate offices for months, they finally agreed that it was not my responsibility. This has happened each and every time the system has malfunctioned (12 times in 7 years) This doesn't include the $700+ twice yearly servicing which consists of a non-trained "plumber" coming out and emptying and refilling the carbon and resin. Of course they don't sell the chemicals for DIY and if you use 3rd party chemicals, the "warranty" is no longer valid. Overall, my recommendation is... find a similar product from a different company who has some, any level of understanding of business ethics and morals and most importantly, do not allow the warranty to be a selling point, it is meaningless. ANYBODY other then RainSoft
4. Written by MG, on 14-09-2008 01:57 The only people who come to a website called pissed off consumers to say good things about a product are those who work for the company in question. It's pretty obvious. Now I was with a friend when he signed up to win a free water test... I told him then it was a scam, then he had the dude show up and scam him for hours. What kind of company goes so low as to need to run a fake raffle to get sales? Way to go RainSoft. More like LameSoft.

Written by Shaila, on 23-08-2008 15:49 Rainsoft water system is a rip off! i thought that from the begining. but since my parents did not believe me i researched to prove myself right. it is overlyexpansive. they lie to you. they sold their system to people for $3000 and $5000...and they sold it to us for $8000! i do hope after viewing my research my parents will listen to me and return it. i have had that system for 10 day's and their warenty is fake! |
7. Written by mikel286, on 08-08-2008 10:05 Jojobee is not correctly informed. There is a huge difference between a water softner and a purification system. Do the research and you will see. By the way jojobee, it is 'pour' not poor.
8. Written by BoilerMaker Scientist, on 13-07-2008 22:34 I have a background in air and water purifcation on an industrial level with a degree from the Purdue School of Ag in Environmental Science. I can attest that your statement is not only ridiculous - but ignorant. When I moved into central florida the water was wretched - and I made the decision to purchase a system and spent nine months researching fourteen different systems ranging from $400 on up to about $7500 - and the differences are IMMENSE. If you have chlorine in your water - the importance of moving beyond a simple softener are even GREATER as it will break down and destroy the media inside the system that does the softening/conditioning in often as short as a two or three year period - and then you are back to starting over with nothing. I assure you - take my advice and DON'T take the advice of the other individual - best yet - take neither of our advice- just some real and true research - talk to a water specialist/local scientific professional and dig in - you'll see the differences are that like that between a Huffy Bicycle and a Harley Davidson Motorcycle
