Try and schedule a repair, and they won't set a time. Just make you wait all day, and then they cancel. Like we don't have anything better to do than wait for them.
My Rain Soft wakes me up at night. Needs lots of salt. batteries. Now it leaks constantly, and rain soft says they can't be out for a month. Must be one busy repairman. That speaks for itself...
Well, please buy a salt free softener from someone else. save money, time, and headaches.
Do NOT buy a rain soft!!!!

Potassium pellets are more expensive, but the only option if you want salt-free regeneration. It does not work any better than salt does. Both clean the resin the same. Kevin, you are absolutely correct - RainSoft should rely on referrals to grow there business...just like any business. The problem is that very few of their dealers actively solicit referrals...that, and the fact that their in-home selling process is very off-putting. ("Buy it tonight and tonight only for this wonderful price.") They put together a good product, but it's overpriced due to the sales chain that takes a cut all along the line. And Rainsoft doesn't "manufacture" anything. They purchase every single component of their systems and assemble them. If you're willing to pay their price, you'll get decent equipment. |
| 2. Written by Kevin, on 20-09-2009 17:49 First off Steve, a rep. told us it is either or. Potassium is more expensive but works better. Kelly, we were not told how much repairs would be until we needed them. But the woman at the dealership told us to dump bleach down our well cap to rid us of the sulphur smell after it rains. We also needed bulbs for the UV system and they told us how to do that. Now I need to find out how to put the info. in the comp. to tell it that the filter was changed. We had our system for 3 yrs. now and really no complaints. The sytem does need to be checked on from time to time. You can't just expect it to run on its own. I know if I do the repairs myself it cuts in to the repair man's work, but if I have to wait a month, like previously stated, I'll just throw the thing out and post bad reviews. I still buy the parts from them, so it can't be that bad. IMO, good job Rainsoft. Just cut out the 1 hr session. It is a sales pitch. Your best advice comes from customers, not sales reps. |

| 4. Written by Kelly, on 14-08-2009 10:45 Did they tell you it's 99$ to come out and 15$ /15mins to have the service man there and he's the only one who can do the work on it! RIP OFF! The sales man didn' tell us that! |
